North Star Scientific Corp. has been awarded a $14 million Navy contract to design a datalink power amplifier for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye radar aircraft.
Under the contract, North Star will provide “design, engineering development, fabrication and prototype testing of a replacement 1,000-watt Joint Tactical Information Distribution System high-power amplifier in support of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Link-16 datalink and associated capabilities,” according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.
The contract will be performed under the L-Band Sold State High Power Amplifier for Airborne Platforms Small Business Innovation Research contract. The work is scheduled to be completed in November 2020.
