Power purchase agreements are intended to reduce volatility in electricity costs while simultaneously allowing agencies to achieve renewable energy goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the buildings that might see new solar panel systems include the Ronald Reagan Federal Building, the Treasury Building and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>See also: <\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/story\/government\/acquisition\/gsa-gwac\/2015\/04\/03\/gsa-solar\/25240657\/\" title=\"http:\/\/www.federaltimes.com\/story\/government\/acquisition\/gsa-gwac\/2015\/04\/03\/gsa-solar\/25240657\/\">GSA combines solar panel procurements into a single RFP<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses have until June 19 to confirm their attendance at a pre-proposal conference and then GSA will allow for site visits in July. Proposals are due August  <g class=\"gr_ gr_26 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation multiReplace\" data-gr-id=\"26\" id=\"26\">   18,2015  <\/g>, according to GSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The power purchase agreement would run for 10 years with an option to renew the agreement for another 10 years, according to the solicitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agencies are under pressure to become more sustainable and use more renewable energy under an executive order signed by President Obama March 19.
